Dr. Elkassem

Dr. Mohammed Elkassem Bio

Dr. Elkassem attended the University of Western Ontario, in London Ontario. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Biology degree. He also minored in Nutrition. Dr. Elkassem then attended the New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) between 2001 and 2005. Dr. Elkassem obtained his chiropractic doctorate while graduating with honours. He then spent a year in Buffalo New York during his clinic residency.

Dr. Elkassem achieved many academic awards during his tenure at NYCC. Some of these include being a 5 time recipient of both the NYCC Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship, and the NYCC International Scholarship award and culminating with his induction into the Phi Chi Omega Chiropractic Honours Society.

Dr. Elkassem is an Active Release Techniques (ART) provider. Active Release Technique is a Gold standard soft tissue rehabilitation therapy. Its goal is to remove scar tissue and adhesion within muscle and soft tissue that was caused by repetitive micro-trauma or accidental macro-trauma. 

Dr. Elkassem has acted as the team chiropractor for the Buffalo Bandits professional lacrosse team, the Buffalo Gladiators semi-pro football team as well as the St. Albert Rugby club and Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC) mixed martial arts league. Dr. Elkassem has also worked with professional athletes in the NHL, NLL, and NFL.

Dr. Elkassem has developed and teaches the ‘Backpack Safety Program', an instructional program for elementary students in St. Albert and Edmonton.  He also has lectured about proper stretching and warm up techniques at several Running Room locations and public gyms.
