Are you finding it hard to motivate yourself to get out of bed? Do you have feelings of sadness or hopelessness for extended periods of time? Are you losing sleep or finding your appetite has changed?
These are just a few of the common symptoms of depression. Biochemical imbalances in the brain, major traumatic events, or psychological factors can cause depression. A major trauma or even the inability to deal with everyday situations can cause a person with depression to feel symptoms that interfere with their daily functions.
The good news is depression is treatable. There are many resources, counsellors, support groups, and treatments available. The first step is finding out more.
